This is how it all began...

When I first met Alyse, I knew that there was something special about her. After seeing her a couple of times while hanging out with Tim, a mission companion, I gave Tim call and asked for Alyse's number. I called her and asked her out for that evening. Luckily, she said yes, and we joined my family for dinner and then attended the Kurt Bestor Christmas concert. It was a great concert, and Alyse seemed to have a great time with my family. I continued to ask her out over the following weeks, and things worked out the way I had hoped. As we dated more and more, I began to realize that this was going to be a special girl in my life. Jen and Brad (Mike's sister and Brother-in-law) would often joke around with us about available apartments, or good deals on rings. It all started as a joke, but the more and more I realized that my family approved, I realized that she would definitely be the one that would be helping me with those decisions. I took a knee on February 14th and asked Alyse to marry me. She said yes!
