Christmas and the Cabin

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone! We had an interesting Christmas this year. Mike was scheduled to work Christmas morning from 7 AM to 3 PM and it was our year to spend Christmas with my family in Orem. Being the fabulous husband he is, Mike insisted that we spend Christmas Eve with my family and he would drive all the way to work from Orem the next morning. We spent Christmas Eve visiting my siblings and their kids.  Christmas morning, Mike work up before 5 AM and left for his snowy and dark commute to work. I stayed and tried to enjoy Christmas with the family, but it was not the same without Mike. We finally met up at home and had our own little Christmas around 4 or 5. It just shows that Christmas isn't about the presents or lights, it is about being with the ones you love. I am grateful that Mike only had to work a shift at the hospital, instead of being overseas in Iraq or other places.

The next day we were finally able to go up to the family cabin and play! We snowshoed, played games, had treats, relaxed, etc.  Here are a few pictures of the cabin and us snowshoeing. Also, a picture of the pine tree we planted in front of the cabin in honor of April.  My Mom put red lights on it and it was beautiful in the snow.

Amen! I can't imagine Christmas w/out fam. You're so fab to be grateful that he only had to work in the morning, & is here at home instead of overseas!!! I don't think I would have seen it from your perspective. Mike's lucky to have you as a wife!
