Just a little reminder of how I looked in the beginning! I found this crazy to compare!
This is a "G" rated update picture for those who find the bare belly unappealing! :)
And the grand finale..... 27 weeks!!!! I am currently 28 weeks, but I don't have that picture yet, so 27 will have to do! I also wanted to post this picture because it was a milestone for me. I finally entered the maternity clothes stage! It's about time after 6+ months! My Mom bought me a few prego tops and this was my maiden maternity wear voyage!!! I still have yet to cross over in the pants area, but I have a feeling that is just around the corner!
As Mike's previous post told, we bought our stroller and car seat and are really excited to have a little one to fill it! Mike said he is going to take it to the mall and practice his "mall strut" with it! Haha!
Otherwise, it has been a CRAZY week for us, (hence the delay in posting)! It all started a week ago Saturday when I was cleaning the house and had a strange pain high in my ribs on my right side. I was handling the pain fine, until later in the afternoon, I could not take it! With every breath and movement, I had a sharp stabbing pain on that side. I finally broke down and called my OB's office and the doctor on call told me to rest and take some tylenol, I probably pulled a muscle. I did that and survived the night, but still was in pain. Sunday was double duty with Shawn's farewell and Brett's homecoming! We were on the run all day and I did ok, but came home and crashed. With my allotted amount of Tylenol for the day short and the pain still blaring, we finally decided to go to the hospital Sunday night. It was not pleasant and everything was making me really nervous for the well being of Jr. Finally around 2 AM I was released and told I had a kidney infection!
So this past week, I have been taking it easy, taking my daily antibiotics, and trying to continue on even though the pain was still there! Today, I am finally feeling some relief! Thank goodness!
Also this past week, we said goodbye to Shawn (Mike's youngest brother) as he headed off to Guatemala! He is spending his MTC time there and to my knowledge have not heard too much about how he is doing. We hope to hear some news in the next few days.
I finally changed doctors and had my first appointment last week. I like the new doctor, but my heart will always be with Dr. Smith! Haha! Mike and I joke that I have a secret crush on Dr. Smith and that is why we had to switch! The appointment went well, except for how small I am. The doctor was concerned that I measured too small and didn't think I was as far along as I think. I didn't love hearing that, but I figured better now, than the week of April 12th when the baby isn't ready to come. So my RhoGam (spelling?) shot and Gestational Diabetes test were postponed and he scheduled me for another ultrasound to check things out. I had the ultrasound a few days later and it was fun to see Jr. again. He wasn't in the mood to be looked at and had his arms up around his head, covering his face and his legs were crossed and tucked up by his tummy. The tech still got what she needed and luckily Jr. is right on schedule! His head is right on my bladder and she said he has long legs. I got to see one of his eyes, but no look to make sure he really is a boy! Like I said, he didn't want to be bothered.
So, after what seems like a month, this past week is over and we are looking forward and doing as well as possible! I guess my "perfect pregnancy record" ended last week!

Sooooooooooo exciting! Reading your post made me feel all excited again. It really is the coolest thing, isn't it??? You know this already, but it just gets better (the sleep gets worse though...)!!
Alyse, I still don't think that you look very pregnant at all! And I can't believe that you are 28 weeks! How exciting!!! It's fun to read your updates! I was wanting to talk to you at church, but things get hectic in the primary :-) But I'm glad that you are feeling better. Lets get together soon and go to lunch or something!
Wow, so much can happen in a short time. You look great! It is getting so close. Do what you need to, to get this baby here safe! Any names?
hi,this is Cheri,Jen's sister in law. I met you a few times and heard you were pregnant so I came to see how you were doing. Just so you know, I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my first and ended up hospitalized for three days, and I got a terrible yeast infection everywhere because the antibiotics kill acidophylus in our body which is our natural defence against yeast. So I had this for months and when Ethan was born we both had Thrush which is a yeast infection in the breasts and the baby's mouth basically, it also travels through the babies body and out the other end leaving them with bloody, horrible diaper rash, no to mention it feels like your nipples are falling off when they nurse. Believe me, it's more painful than birth. I didn't find this out until I had gone through a nightmare because my doctors didn't bother telling me this, but all you have to do to avoid this is eat a lot of yogurt which has live acidophylus(not sure I'm spelling that right) in it. Or you can buy live acidophylus in the health food section of pretty much any store. I always get it at Fred Meyer(I'm not a huge yogurt fan). Anyway, good luck with te last trimester!
Ew...kidney infection! Poor you! Don't your body know it can't have anything additional infect it while prego?
You are tiny, I was huger than that at week 18.
Hey Alyse! your blog is so cute, where do you get your background? I can't believe how far along you are you barely look pregnant! Hopefully with us in primary together we will be able to see each other more and talk more.
