Obviously Mike and I didn't make that class! The past month or so we have learned a thing or two about having a CURIOUS and MOBILE little guy! He doesn't walk yet, but that doesn't slow him down! Here are a few lessons Jack has taught us about childproofing and how unprepared we are! I am sure worse things are to come.
Jack finally discovered the bathroom and went straight for the toilet. He was curious, but never opened it or anything. Well, I was running around the house doing thing and that and heard the toilet lid drop down. I ran in and he was trying to get it up, but I didn't think he actually had yet. I just grabbed him and shut the door to the bathroom and didn't think any more of it...... until a few hours I went to use the bathroom and found this little surprise from Jack! Haha! I just laughed and had to take a picture!
STAIRS!!!! They are Jack's favorite! He quickly figured out that he can climb them, but he also figured out that if he climbs them and can get past the door, he would find his Papa. It doesn't help that our stairs are HUGE and steep! I spent two days straight just chasing Jack up the stairs. I would bring him back down, try to occupy him with something else and a minute or so later he was headed to the top again!!! I still can't believe he never fell. He would reach the top and bang on the door. I finally gave in once and just opened the door and he went straight to Papa's office looking for him. Sadly, Papa wasn't home from work yet. That night, I demanded that we go buy a gate!!!
The paper shredder! Jack loves the paper shredder because when he touches it, the sensor flashes a yellow light to warn you from touching the shredder part or whatever you call it. I would move it and un-plug it, but yesterday he really hit the jackpot! He tipped it over and of course it was OVERFLOWING! He loved it and I laughed again and let him play in it for a few minutes while I took pictures. Then the fun starts.... Jack LOVES to eat paper!!!! I don't know what it is but he loves paper, tissue, TP, anything like that! So he pretty much just hit the "Jack"pot! He started eating it and not just a few pieces, whatever he could fit in his mouth! So I run for a garbage bag and the vacuum. I couldn't get it up fast enough! Then he starts grabbing handfuls of paper and running away to hide somewhere and eat his beloved paper!!!! SICK! I Finally got it all cleaned up, but I am still finding pieces of paper around the house!
In the end, I know this is nothing! Just some cute stories. We are in the process of baby-proofing! Baby gate, plug covers, cupboard locks, and who knows what else awaits!

Way cute pictures, and stories!!!! Love that he eats paper like its candy, I'm sorry though for you.
Oh man, That cracks me up about the eating paper. HA! I bet he had so much fun discovering all that shredded paper. Why do the moms always have to be the ones to spoil all the fun!!
This just makes me laugh. Sorry Alyse. It's amazing what they do! Wait till he takes off his diapers in the crib and finger paints with his own poop! Hahaha!
