My Sexy Husband (as my cell phone has referred to him since day one) turned 27 on Sunday! He shares his birthday with Valentine's Day and is always a good sport about sharing his special day with a holiday.
I could say a million thing about all he does for us and what an amazing Da-Da he is and hubby (which is certainly true) , but I will just say that I stinkin' love this guy!!! Anyone who knows Mike can't help but like him. He is so love-able. He may be getting old, but I still think he is perfect!!! Happy Birthday honey! Jack and I sure love you!
This year I decided to throw together a party for him without him knowing. Since it was a holiday weekend, I invited both our family members up to my family cabin, Sunday evening for some fun. The great thing was that almost everyone made it too! I got away with all of the food planning and everything without him knowing! He knew we were going up to the cabin and that some of my family was coming, but didn't know what was REALLY going on. When I bought 30+ tortillas and made a few cakes, he questioned, but I threw back excellent excuses to keep him in the dark.
I found this recipe online and decided to give it a try! Choc cake with PB cup chunks inside, PB buttercream frosting, and topped off with 2 1/2 bags of mini PB cups!!! WOW..... can you say HEART ATTACK??? It was perfect..... mmmm! Birthday cakes are supposed to be way over the top, right?

I made these for dinner for everyone.... with some help from family members of course! Mine didn't look this great and I didn't use goat cheese, just mozzarella. I can't say I have had goat cheese and I didn't bother to try. Steak Quesadillas with corn relish. Mmmmm.
Mike had to do the whole birthday cake thing!

It was lots of fun Alyse! And Mike, just remember whenever you are feeling really old, whenever you notice there is more hair on the shower floor than there is on your head, whenever your body has a strange new odor (and not a pleasant one) and your skin looks like it's lost all elasticity, when you can longer control your bodily functions and you can't remember your middle name, just remember, no matter what, you will never be as old as me. That should bring a smile to your face.
Loved the cake!!! Well done! Also the dinner sounded SO good, but sad the pic. didn't work for me. Happy Birthday Mike! And Happy Valentine's Day! OH! And Jack still looks like such a little stud even when he is sick.
