We decided to buy Jack a "big boy bed" for Christmas this year. We ended up deciding to buy a bunk bed when we found out that we are having another boy. We decided the extra cost would be well worth it a few years down the road.
We had a few struggles with the whole bed situation. We brought it all home, took the crib down, then proceeded to set up the bed and found out that 2 of the head boards have big cracks in the wood and we don't have hardware or a ladder! The cracks and ladder situation were not a huge deal and could be dealt with later, but we need hardware!!! We called the company and they said they don't have our hardware in stock, but after us saying we don't have a bed for our child and were hoping to put this up for Christmas, they said they would deliver white hardware tomorrow and then they would order us black hardware in along with new headboards and a ladder. Anyway, to make a long and frustrating story short, we never got the hardware the next day, they ordered the wrong headboards and it pretty much took months to finally have what we needed and in good condition! Love it!
He really likes it, but is having the usual struggles.... won't stay in bed, wants Mommy and Daddy to sleep with him, wants to know where his crib is and even wants it back, etc etc. We decided to start early and try to make the transition well before Jr. comes!
I can't believe my little guy is getting so big!
