Delivery Day Continued...

We spent several hours in the delivery room, waiting for a post-partum room to open up. The poor Women's Department was slammed, hence why I was bumped getting in. We didn't mind though. Jared was here and we didn't have anywhere to be!
While all of this was happening, Jack was with Uncle Brett and soon to be Aunt Ashlee. He had the time of his life with them! They took him to the park, fed ducks, got lunch, you name it, they did it!
They were kind enough to bring Jack to the hospital so he could meet his new brother. I was really curious to see how he would react to the baby. He was a little nervous at first and wouldn't even come up to the hospital bed. I think he was just nervous about the surroundings and was trying to figure out what was going on. He finally warmed up and came to check out Jared.
He warmed up quickly and wanted to hold the baby.
This picture is classic!
Can you just imagine what is going on in his head?
"Mom, what did you do?"
He really warmed up and ever since has absolutely LOVED Jared!
I love it when Jack kisses the baby.
You can't take pictures of Jack these days without getting one of his favorite hobby!
Yuck! Don't worry, we sanitized once he was done!

Overall, we were VERY impressed with Alta View. I was a little angry with them at first, but hey, hormones and a big baby belly can bring out the worst at times! We finally went to our recovery room and I guess Alta View gives the mothers and husbands a nice dinner on their last night there. (Don't worry, it is better than hospital food.) They bring in a cute little table with flowers and sparkling apple juice, etc. We lucked out, because a dinner was ordered for another couple, but they ended up leaving early and so they gave us the dinner! We ended up getting it both nights! Yum! I was sooo hungry by then and so it was great! The chocolate cake for dessert was delish! You can tell that is what Jack is enjoying in this picture.

Mike's cousin gave us (as we have come to call them in our house) a "guy" for one of our baby showers when I was pregnant with Jack. Jack has LOVED that guy and we have bought a few more incase we lost it or something. He slept with it every night since being about 4 months. We decided that Jared needed his own guy. Grandma Roper bought Jared a zebra guy and got Jack a new dinosaur guy. She let Jack open them and give one to Jared. He loved it!
More kisses for brother.
Our nurse was really nice and gave Jared his bath in our room so that Jack could see it.
Jared didn't love it though!
My Mom left and took Jack home that evening. Sadly, when we decided to be induced early, we found out that most of Mike's family would be in Florida on vacation! We felt terrible, but decided we needed the time. Brad, Jen, and Brynlee and Brielle came to see us later that evening. The girls were really cute with the baby. We then talked to Mike's family via video chat so they could see Jared and hear about the delivery.

After that, we were exhausted, of course. We got ready for bed and my poor husband didn't have much of place to sleep. He said it was fine and wanted to stay to be with me incase I needed help, but I insisted he go home and get some rest. I told him I would be fine and would probably sleep better not worrying about if he was sleeping well or not.
What a day! We are thrilled to have our little guy here!
Another chapter in our book of adventures!
