4th of July

July 4th was our first major holiday away from home. It was hard being away from home and missing out on the festivities, but we ended up having a fun day.

Mike has made a few friends at school and he planned to spend the 4th of July with Christian and his wife, Ryann.  They came to our house and we went swimming at our community pool.  It was SO hot and swimming felt so nice. Jack was really shy around them at first, but quickly conquered that!  He had a blast swimming with them and being his usual crazy self.  We loved having Mike go swimming with us.  I think this was his first time swimming at our community pool.  He has been too busy at school.

After swimming, we all cleaned up a little and had a BBQ. Being new to the area, we didn't really know where to go for fireworks and so we looked on the internet and headed out.  It was dark, but still so hot, over 100 degrees! We were sweating while watching the fireworks! It was a pretty good firework show.  Daddy spoiled Jack and bought him a light-up sword.
Overall, we had a fun holiday and really enjoyed getting to know Christian and Ryann. We are excited to have some friends here in Phoenix.
