Advice...

Lately, I have been thinking about and trying to prepare for the upcoming weeks. I have been trying to get a start on my hospital bag also, but I don't really know what to expect and so I am at a loss as to what to throw in. So, I was thinking that most of the people who look at my blog have had kids!  So, I would love any advice/ideas/suggestions anyone wants to give. I know this seems kind of lame, but I have found that those who have been through this can give some really good pointers or ideas. I know in the end, I will never be totally prepared and will only figure it out once I have done it, but hey, it will still be fun to hear from everyone! For example, my sister-in-law gave me a couple of binky's (spelling???) she never used with her kids. I don't remember the brand/name right now, but they are new to me and look better than any others I have ever seen! Again, nothing huge, but I really am excited to try them out and they are already in the hospital bag!

I would know the name of your pediatrician so when the hospital asks you, you are prepared. It really helped knowing who's ours would be so we could quickly schedule appointments when little tests came up. Other than that have fun, it is the most beautiful experience in life.

I got something from my doctor that is a little hospital bag checklist...you can check it out if you want to help get ideas on what to take with you. All of this stuff is so new to us!! I'm glad you are feeling well and you totally don't look swollen at all!! I feel huge compared to you and yet, you are are due like 9 weeks ahead of me.

Good luck with the last few weeks of pregnancy!!!

You are such a cute pregnant mom! I love all the updates. I was so horrible at taking pregnant mommy pictures. I think I only have like one.
Two things I wish I had when I was at the hospital were some slippers and a bath robe. When I would get up and walk around the room I wanted to be a little bit more covered than those wonderful hospital gowns they provide you with. Some people I have talked to didn't mind the hospital gowns, but I was always a little worried about visitors showing up unexpectantly and there I would be in this incredibly short and attrractive hospital gown.

So I totally felt the same way. I ended up hardly using anything i packed, so just make sure you've got your essential toiletries and they should take care of you outside of that. just don't be afraid to ask. I almost brought a robe, but forgot at the last minute and I was okay, my nurse was really sweet and brought me another gown to wear backwards so it looked like a robe. Oh, I do agree with steph, I was so happy that i had little slippers to wear when i was walking around. Also don't worry about bringing nursing pads, you wont need it until the third or fourth day. Good luck! And we are crossing our fingers for a quick delivery!

Chapstick! I looked at a bunch of what to pack lists online and they all said chapstick. I couldn't do without. If they put you on oxygen your lips get real dry. And anything to make yourself feel cute. Labor is not a cute thing so after labor anything to make yourself feel cute. Good luck!

I would recommend: your favorite pillow (the ones they give you are really LAME), fun treats for you and Mike to have after the baby arrives, anything to help you feel freshened up and pretty after going through delivery (toothbrush, makeup, hair bands, etc.), and MOST ESPECIALLY get some of those old lady diapers. Depends or Poise. They are wonderful for post-delivery and even pre-delivery (if your water breaks before you get to the hospital). They are way more comfy than the saggy streched out underwear the hospital gives you. And they keep all the ice-packs and pads in place much better. Also, earplugs are nice to have! Good luck! You're gonna do awesome :)
