Long Overdue...

Yes, a new post is long overdue! The past month has been filled with baby showers, doctor appointments, continued prep for Jr's arrival, and everything else that has been helping to pass time! Luckily it worked! I don't have a current 37 week picture yet, but here is 36. Not my finest picture, but oh well, pregnancy is starting to take it's toll! I think I am starting to get the swollen look and I am not too happy about that! GRRRR! As usual, I will give a G rated picture for those of you who don't like the belly shots! :)

I am now 37 weeks along and really starting to feel pregnant! I have had a really low key and easy going pregnancy with only a few little bumps here and there. Within the last 2-3 weeks, I think people have started to realize I am pregnant, but majority of people can't tell how far along I am by my size.  Another reason people are starting to notice is because the warm weather and "pregnancy heat" has caused me to shed my coat, revealing my belly!

Last week, I was checking out at Wal-Mart and a cute oriental lady was my cashier/checker. In her very thick oriental accent, said, "You are having a boy, right?" It took me by complete shock and I don't think I really understood what she said at first. I replied yes with a smile. She then responded, "It is your first one, eh?" Shocked again, I replied yes again. It was just funny! I really have not had very many people comment about me being pregnant until recently.

Weekly doctor check-ups are going well. My doctor still says I am really small and once again asked me to go get another ultrasound to make sure things are progressing as they should.  We didn't worry because we have been through this a couple of times, but we are grateful our doctor wants to be careful! Our ultrasound showed that we have a healthy (hopefully still boy, he just never wants to show us that area!) 6 1/2 pound baby! She said he has a big head that measured at 38 weeks, instead of 36 weeks. Everything else was pretty much on schedule. She also saw some peach fuzz on his head!

I am starting to progress "down there" :)  but nothing dramatic yet! My doctor has checked me the past two weeks and I am not excited about the continuing occurrence each week, but I guess I have no choice! We learned at my appointment on Tuesday that I am now considered full term and can expect a baby any time in the next 3 weeks or so. I am not expecting it though! No point getting my hopes up for an early delivery! The way I have been feeling lately, I wish it would happen, but oh well.

I can't finish this post without saying thank you to my sweet husband for everything he has done and will no doubtably continue to do for me in the next few weeks! He is there every time I bend over for something, try to put my shoes on, he does the dishes almost nightly, and is instantly at my side with every moan or sign of pain I give! So not only does he take care of his large pregnant wife, he also balances work and school! Then to top it off, today he cleaned the whole bathroom for me! I got home from work and went to use the "potty" and could instantly smell the CLEAN difference!!! It was LONG overdue for a cleaning and I have not felt up to doing the job. It is his spring break this week and he has been doing things around the house left and right! I love him so much and can't wait to see what a great Dad he will be to our son. I also have to mention that he started a little blog of his own with "Dad's view" of the pregnancy and soon to come arrival. It is really cute what he has to say. It is mikeandalyse.com, but you can't put www in front of it or it will not work. Weird, I know.  It is password protected and so if you email me at alyseswens@gmail.com, I will give you the username and password.
