SUPER UPDATE

Ok, I have been working to get my blog completely up to date, but it's obvious I am failing! Life is LITERALLY crazy for us and is going to get even crazier! So, I am going to give an update for anyone who even reads my blog anymore and then I will try to keep working to get completely updated. I probably won't be doing much blogging for the next month or two. Here is why....

Where to start with our saga.....?

Ok, we sent out 6 applications to various schools for Architecture Grad school back in January. We have been anxiously waiting for news. Meanwhile, Jr (yes it's a boy) was growing in my tummy and we have been trying to help Jack understand that a baby brother was on the way. Mike got an incredible opportunity at the end of January and was hired at Woodbury Corporation in their Architecture Department. It has been a great job and he has really enjoyed getting a taste of the career he hopes to have someday.

I think we finally got news from Arizona State at the end of February and we were THRILLED to finally get a YES! We were really nervous because this program starts at the end of May and we had to give them an answer by the beginning of April and we were not sure if we would have heard back from all of the schools by then. Mike and I took a weekend and went down to Phoenix to see what we thought of the school and area. We knew my travel time was coming up quickly and so we took a quick trip. We have always liked ASU, but I have been nervous about the Arizona HEAT!

After weeks of running to the mailbox, we finally heard back from all of the schools and recieved a YES from every school! We were shocked, but so grateful! So our options were Arizona, U of U, Washington State, Buffalo NY, North Carolina and Denver. Right off, we knew we would not go to the U. We have had A LOT of advice to try to go out of state and get something else on our resume. Our top choices were Arizona, NY, and NC.

Now on to the choice. We struggled with this for weeks! We will be gone to school for three years and it's not like you can just draw one from a hat. We kept feeling good about Arizona, but it is a double edged sword. It starts early, which would be so nice to finish early and why not just get on with it? We have been looking forward to this big step in our life for quite a while! Problem: With a baby due May 1st and my little brother getting married the weekend before Mike would start (May 31st)......that makes for a crazy month, to say the least.

To make the story short, we finally decided on Arizona! Heat here I come baby!!! Mike and his Dad have spent the last month trying to find us a place to live and have made a couple of trips down there. Mike just got home this week and finally found us a nice little home to rent. Phew, what a relief!

I am 38 weeks along and am surviving. I have fabulous pregnancies and so I really should not complain, but the last 3 weeks are rough. I carry my babies in my back and I feel it! I am going to be induced a week early because we feel I need some time to get back on my feet before the big move! So Tuesday the 26th is the big day! We will post some pictures for sure.

Here I am at 35 weeks. My recent pictures are still on my camera. Sorry.
Jack just had his 3rd birthday and is quite a handful! He is not potty trained yet. To be honest, I have given up for now! I just can't do it right now and he wants NOTHING to do with it! I really feel that he knows things are going on and that things are going to change around here. He loves the idea of having a baby brother, but we are all curious to see how he handles it.

So, I will have my baby on Tuesday, take a week or so to get back on my feet and then pack up our little apartment and head for our new home the 2nd week of May. I have probably done 2% (that might be too generous of a number haha) of the packing. Sadly, I probably won't get much more done before Jr comes. Like I said, we will move down the 2nd week of May and spend a week or so getting settled and then we will head back to Utah for my little brother's wedding, then hurry back to Arizona for Mike to start school on the 31st! It's going to be INSANE, but we are VERY EXCITED! I know we will only survive this crazy time because of the help from family. Everyone has offered to help where needed and I am sure we will survive somehow. We just keep telling ourselves we have to take one thing at a time, breath, and try not to get overwhelmed!

Wish us luck!
We will obviously not be blogging much in the next month or so, but I will try my hardest to get back when I can.
