Mike was pretty busy with school around his birthday, but we still managed to have some fun. He kind of had a little celebration one day and then some on another. We had to squeeze it in when we could. We woke up and took Jack to school and then went out to breakfast. That night he surprised me and brought home Olive Garden for dinner. Mmmmmm! It just isn't worth going out to eat with kids! I made him a cinnamon swirl cake that was beyond moist and delish! Sadly, I didn't take any pictures! Trust me! It was one of those nights when you just need to get the kids to bed! The day before Mike's birthday, the boys and I made a chocolate cake and took it into Mike's studio class to share with everyone. I took my camera with intent to take pictures, but my hands were pretty full! The cake was a hit and it was fun to spend some time with Daddy at school.
Mike got his gift a few days early this year. I knew it was coming that day and he was leaving for school and decided to go out he front door because Jared was already down for his morning nap. He opens the front door and this huge package was leaning against the house! NOOOOO! I was frustrated, but I guess it is only fair because the same thing happened on my birthday. So, I decided to just let him open it because I was so excited to give it to him.
What is it you ask? Well, Mike went to Chile two summers ago for a study abroad and he took this great picture while there and then had some fun with it in photoshop. He loves it and has always said he wants to have it printed up. I found this great deal for a $100 credit towards a canvas for only $35 on Zulily and then I had a $15 on Zulily! So I jumped on that. I had the huge thing made for only like $70 and I got free shipping!!! I was really impressed and the company did a GREAT job! Best of all, Mike LOVES it!!!
