Father's Day

We were in Utah for Father's Day.  We didn't realize it until a few days after we booked our flight.  I felt terrible, but Mike was really good.  I think he knew I needed to go home.  Jack and I made these Father's Day gifts for Daddy, Grandpa, and Papa before we left Phoenix.  Jack loved giving them to Grandpa and Papa and we left Daddy's at home for him with a treat and a note.

Mike is such a fabulous Father!  He is so busy and carries a lot of stress on his shoulders and does SO MUCH for us, but he still makes time for us! He is very sensitive to our needs.  He will text or call me later in the day to make sure I am surviving.  I love seeing him play with Jack.  Jack adores him and I know Jared will as well.  He walks in the door and I usually find him a few minutes later, in Jack's room, door shut, and playing dinosaurs or setting up his train.  The time he gives his children is so priceless and I have no doubt will build a foundation for a strong relationship for the future!
WE LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

We cannot forget to remember our fathers.  Mike and I both have fathers who are both so giving and generous, but they do it in their own quiet manner.  They have worked so hard to build the lives they have and to provide for their families.  We hope we can follow that example.
We love you both.

To this day, I still feel guilty about it, but I never told Mike's family that we were coming into town.  I wanted to, but I really wanted to surprise Mike's Dad on Father's Day.  We knew the whole family would be there on Sunday and so we headed up there.  Mike called his Dad and told him we were having something delivered for him and that he needed to answer the door.  So, we pull into the driveway and as I am getting Jack out of the car, I look up and see Papa walking out of the front door.  We hid and my first thought was, "Darn, he saw us," and I thought he was coming out to us.  I then realized that he was just taking something to the garbage.  Once he got to the garbage, I knew he would see us and so I decided to surprise him before he caught us.  We jumped out and said, "Happy Father's Day Papa!"  It was so fun to see the look of surprise on his face.  It was like he just expected to see us because that is normal, but then you could almost see it click that we were on his driveway and we should be in Phoenix.  He was so excited and took Jack in his arms.  We then went inside and he said, "Look what I found on the driveway", to the family and everyone again was shocked and then excited to see us.  It was really fun.  We loved spending time with them and being able to see them.
